Mental Health Awareness Requires Serious Attention in Our Society... Kabiru Mahe
A Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation stakeholder based in Sokoto State, Kabiru Mahe has re-emphasize the importance of deepening the consciousness of mental health awareness and general well-being for a greater society. He made this known on 28/6/2024 during a virtual engagement session and interface organized and coordinated by Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation Resource Centre Enugu as part of events lined up to mark the end of the men's mental health awareness month for June 2024.
According to Mahe, the commendable initiatives and efforts of Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation are applaudable and need to be sustained. The initiative is necessary since mental health issues require urgent attention. Mental and physical health are crucial aspects of our overall well-being because our emotional and mental health affects how we think, behave and feel and plays pivotal and significant role in our day-to-day life events and productivity. Neglecting issues around mental health and physical well-being may lead to severe consequences that will have far reaching negative implications on our lives hence the need and call to prioritize them for a greater society.
He maintained that the advent of Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation in the country with its laudable objective is a good thing to happen to the society as more awareness on mental health, negative options and positive coping skills are raised and with a call for more action and responsibility. Yes, the issue of negative emotions, leading to suicide, crime, drug addiction, violent extremist behaviour among others is there and Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation has all it takes to address these negative tendencies by identifying and resolving them through stakeholders and multi-disciplinary action.
